Is ProfitBid free?
Yes — all calculators and the estimate generator are free and unlimited, with no account. Pro is planned at $39 one-time and is not on sale yet.
What margin should a remodeler target?
Many remodelers target 25-40% gross margin to cover overhead and leave net profit. That requires a 33-67% markup on cost. Your right number depends on your overhead — job costing on ProfitBid shows what you actually keep.
Why did I win every bid last month?
Winning 80-90% of bids usually means you are underpriced, not unbeatable. A healthy close rate on qualified leads is roughly 30-50%. Check a recent job in the job costing calculator before lowering prices again.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. All tools run locally in your browser and autosave only to local storage on your device. Nothing is transmitted to a server.
Does ProfitBid give accounting or tax advice?
No. ProfitBid is a calculator suite. Burden rates, tax treatment and contract terms depend on your state and situation — confirm with your accountant or attorney.
Can clients see my costs in the estimate PDF?
No. The print view of the estimate generator shows only scope items and tier totals. Costs and margins are hidden by the print stylesheet.
